On Saturday, October 4th 2008, Austin Muslims celebrated the biggest and most successful Eid Carnival Austin ever had. The Carnival took place at North Austin Muslim Community Center mosque (NAMCC), and was attended by well over 1000 Muslim women, men, and children of all ages, in addition to many guests from all faiths. Special guests included Austin City Council Mayor, Will Wynn, and Austin Chief of Police, Art Acevedo. The Mayor congratulated the Austin Muslim community for the Eid, and presented appreciation certificates to the Eid volunteers.

The Carnival featured entertainment for all ages, including moonwalks, inflatable rides, water slide, henna, face painting, Wii video games, snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy, balloons and clown, pony rides, and kiddy train rides. Guests enjoyed delicious food from around the world, and shopped at the local ethnic clothing vendors and bazaar.

Pictures of the event are available on our website .
